Chairing a working meeting with the heads of ministries and departments, and regional administrations, the President said timely harvesting and proper organization of settlements with tenants are the areas that consume maximum time.

However, he said the issues of seasonal agricultural work and cotton harvest are on the Government’s agenda and all necessary steps will be taken to speed up the process of cotton harvesting with effective use of relevant technology.

The Premier said that if cotton farmers get timely payments for their harvested produce, this would ensure smooth running of the harvesting process and would also work as a motivation for farmers to boost their productivity.

In this connection, he highlighted the role of the local branches of the state commercial bank Daykhanbank in proper organization of timely settlement of account of farmers.

Turkmenistan, which launched its cotton harvest campaign a week earlier, aims to harvest 1.109 million tons of raw cotton from cultivated area of 550,000 hectares, this year. Last year, the country harvested 1.1 million tons of cotton.
