Chinese firm harvests cotton in Zimbabwe

A Chinese firm dealing in production of cotton as well as manufacturing, import and export of yarn, has harvested its first cotton in southern African nation of Zimbabwe.
 
Shandong Jin Fang Cotton Industry Technology Co. Ltd. has so far harvested 12,000 tons of cotton in Zimbabwe.
 
Last year, the Shandong based company set up a new company, Jin Mack Zimbabwe Cotton (Private) Limited, in collaboration with a private Zimbabwean firm that was engaged in the production and processing of cotton.
 
The company has invested more than US$ 30 million to acquire a 20,000 tons cotton production and processing base in Zimbabwe.
 
Founded in 2003, Jin Fang Cotton is located in the Gaomi Dense Industrial Park over an area of 50,000 sq m.
