Spot cotton prices remained unchanged steady at Rs2525 per maund, as per Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) release today.
In ready cotton transactions, about 1000 bales changed hands at APE for Rs2550, 1000 at RYK for Rs2500, 1400 at SDK for Rs2550 and 200 bales were transacted at YZM for Rs2475 per maund.
According to Cotlook Indices (January 30, 2006), A index stood at 59.70 and B index was 57.50.
New York Cotton Futures Market Closing Delivery for March and May 2006 was released on January 30, 2006.
Opening price for March 2006 is $55.63 with a high and low levels at $55.80 and $54.92 respectively, while previous rate was $55.53 finally to close at $55.17. This shows a drop of $0.36.
While for May 2006, futures opening price is $56.90, with high and low levels at $57.10 and $56.22 respectively; previous rate is $56.83 and will close at $56.49. This reveals a drop of $0.34.
