Tunisia's cotton spinning sector consumption remained stable during 2005.
Cotton fiber imports went down to 33.3 million Tunisian dinars, compared to imports of 43.0 million Tunisian dinars recorded during 2004.
Even then the import volume was in accordance with present market trend.
A surge of 5.6 percent in yarn and thread imports valued at 208.8 million Tunisian dinars was recorded for producing domestic fabrics.
Textile and apparel exports remained stable in 2005.
