CCRI optimistic at achieving targeted 13 mn cotton bales output

The Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI) Director, Muhammad Islam Gill, said that target of 13 million bales of cotton production set by Cotton Crop Assessment Committee (CCAC) is attainable.
He also informed that already 12.371 million bales had reached the ginneries in Punjab and Sindh.
According to Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA), last year during this time, there were 30 cotton factories operating and now the number has gone up to 70, said Gill.
Last year, there was bumper cotton crop with production reaching 14.6 million bales as against revised target of 15 million bales.
