Australia is all geared up to host the 17th edition of the Australian Cotton Conference, scheduled to be held from August 5 to 7, 2014, at the Gold Coast Exhibition and Convention Center, at Broadbeach in the state of Queensland.

Jointly organized by the peak body for Australian cotton industry, Cotton Australia, and the Australian Cotton Shippers Association (ACSA), the biennial event unites the entire cotton sector—from farmers and researchers to brand owners.

During the conference, renowned Australian business futurist, trends tracker and technology guru, Craig Rispin, would be giving a special presentation on the future of cotton industry titled ‘Our Future—Strategies to profit from Future Technologies’.

Other speakers at the conference include Australian television presenter and renowned doctor Andrew Rochford, who would highlight the importance of health amongst farmers for healthy crop; psychologist Phil Jauncy, who would share information regarding strategies, self-development and learning the basics, for cotton growers to employ them during harvest period; and former Australian soldier and Victoria Cross award recipient Ben Roberts Smith, who would touch on the importance of leadership to survive in competitive environments.

The two-day event offers many networking and business opportunities for the commercial sector of the Australian cotton industry.

The conference is a platform for Australian cotton growers and cotton brand owners to expose and promote their brands, products and services to buyers from various different countries, including China, which accounts for 65 to 70 percent of Australian cotton exports.
