Cotton Cotlook A index declines last week

The cotton Cotlook A index declined last week ending Sept 19, as global cotton trends moved lower, mainly from reports of poor US cotton export sales.

Adding to the pressure was the impact of new Chinese Cotton Policy, on both Chinese and global cotton markets.

Alongside, weak demand from downstream buyers and poor market fundamentals also contributed to decrease of cotton prices last week.

The cotton Cotlook A index fell 1.49% by end of last week, compared to its previous week ending Sept 12.

The average Cotlook A index stood at 73.95 cents/pound last week, down 1.12 cents/pound from closing of its previous week.
