A master development plan has been approved by Vietnam's Industry Ministry to develop Vietnam's cotton industry.
This project will be implemented during June-December period this year, local industrial sources informed.
Outlay of this project is estimated worth Euro331,700 by French Development Agency (AFD) under preferential Official Development Assistance (ODA).
The project's aim is to develop domestic cotton industry in order to reduce dependence on imported cotton.
This in turn will generate more employment opportunities in cotton farming areas and thereby, help in alleviating poverty.
This project will analyze domestic and international situation and review Government's cotton cultivation program also.
Inputs for development till 2010, with possibility of extending the project term upto 2020 is also envisaged under this project.
