Abundant rainfall before monsoon in Gujarat has given rise to the expectation of a bumper BT cotton crop this year.
Gujarat being the first state in the country using BT cotton seeds makes it important on the export front as almost 80 percent of the country's share belongs to Gujarat.
Raw BT cotton production is expected to surpass figures of nine million bales resulting in the higher income for the farmers.
