Cotton consumption in South Korea has dropped considerably in 2006, causing the demand for import to go down as well.

Although recording a drop of 35.6 percent, US remained the top supplier with 406,134 bales (480-pound), with 38,307 bales in June.

Australia took the second place with 212,663 bales (480-pound) and 18,881 bales in June.

However, imports from Brazil and India surged 51.1 and 51.5 percent at 143,044 bales (480-pound) and 25,196 bales, respectively.
