Cotton crops face the heat in Texas

Unpredictable weather has destroyed up to two million acres of cotton in Texas, reports Texas Cooperative Extension.

The only bright spot has been along the Gulf coast north of Victoria, where there has been good cotton thanks to good rainfall.

In the north plane, despite dry weather the cotton is in good condition whereas the cotton crop has been affected severely. Dryland cotton has been blossoming and most of the crop is near its output.

Meanwhile, in rolling plains, dry weather continues affecting the dryland cotton adversely. Lack of water has seen the crops not able to sustain themselves thus affecting the total output badly.
