Sikandar Hayat Bosan, Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock has targeted 1.38 crore bales of cotton production this year and also announced bonus of Rs50 per maund of germ free cotton for farmers.
He ensured that Government would control the price of agricultural sprays and anti-germicides.
Purpose behind this decision is to provide farmers virus-free seeds and advices have been given to the farmers to use sprays only in "Milli-bug" (virus) infected areas.
Sources from Ministry of Textile informed it has been decided to purchase 1 lakh cotton bales from farmers.
