Due to heavy rains across the Gujarat state, all the major cities in southern Gujarat are submerged.

Surat, one of the biggest cities in terms of commerce and population is 90 percent under the water.

Heavy rainfall in cities like Surat, Navsari, Bharuch has affected almost 10 percent cotton crop. On the other hand, farmers will go for water-loving crops to set off their losses.

Exact figures of loss would be come out after water recedes from Tapi river, informed Biren Vakil, Director of Paradigm Commodity Advisors.
