CI's Fiber Competition Division to enhance exports

Riding on the 75 percent shares of export in US cotton sales, Cotton Incorporated, producer-funded research and promotion arm of cotton industry, has started new Fiber Competition Division which is mainly export-oriented.
The new division aims to maintain US cotton dominance at home and abroad with the integration of company's Fiber Quality Research and Fiber Management Research Divisions.
Company has started an Engineered Fiber Selection China Task Force which is a group of highly trained members, who will train the Chinese textile manufacturers to manage their raw cotton fiber with the help of EFS computer-based software developed by Cotton Incorporated.
Cotton Incorporated CEO J Berrye Worsham, stated that the company is realigning itself to meet the stiff competition US cotton is confronted with from global players.
Former Cotton Incorporated's Vice-President, Charles Chewning will lead the EFS China Task Force with the new designation of Vice-President, EFS Marketing, China.
Advantages of implementing the EFS System — the world's leading cotton management system for producing consistently high-quality yarns will be taught to Chinese manufacturers.
Worsham added that Chinese market is key to US cotton's future and the EFS system is crucial in assuring strong US shares in international mills.
