Cotton production is expected to rise 10 percent this year from last year's figure of 245 lakh bales, informed South India Cotton Association (SICA).
Domestic consumption of cotton is rising, which will help growers to sell their yield smoothly, C Soundararaj President, SICA stated.
Domestic cotton production is expected to increase, while cotton producers in the US and China are suffering with many problems which would help Indian cotton producers to boost exports.
This year cotton export is likely to cross 60 lakh bales compared to 45 lakh bales last year.
SICA is developing new cotton pattern in collaboration with Rithanya Textiles Limited as its Extra Long Staple Cotton promotion program with Super Spinning Mills Limited was quite successful.
