Prices of cotton should be raised for the betterment of cotton farmers, David Ringechan, MP for Padyere constituency stated.

Government has failed to secure farmers' interest and provide them adequate return of their yield and therefore, farmers in Padyere area are very poor, he added.

Ringechan stated that cotton prices should be raised to around Shs1,500 from Shs350 as cotton is very vital commodity produced on a large scale.

Government should restore cooperatives to determine prices properly and land giveaways should be stopped, according to Ringechan.
