After a tyrannous long rule of middlemen, cotton farmers in Nyanza can make a comeback.
Farmers had stopped growing cotton due to poor marketing system and lack of competitive pricing.
But major players like Dominion Group of Companies have implemented progressive strategies for development of cotton sector and with their entry farmers are getting better returns for their crop.
Mrs Jane Wekesa, Minister of Agriculture stated that Dominion Farms have created handful of opportunities for the cotton growers.
Now farmers are getting fixed price of Sh21 per kg of cotton and expected to rise in near future, Minister stated.
