Cotton bolls opened on 84 percent of Arizona's cotton acreage for the week ended on 24th September. This was three percent less than 2005 and 11 percent less than the five year average.
Cotton reaping was finished on 15 percent of acreage as against ten percent in 2005 and ten percent five year average, as informed by Arizona office of National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).
Cotton quality was rated as ten percent excellent, 43 percent good, 39 percent fair and eight percent poor by NASS. Arizona's range and pasture conditions were rated as three percent excellent, 15 percent fair, 20 percent poor and 32 percent very poor.
Reaping was done on three quarters or more of Arizona's acreage in Alfalfa with 13 percent rated excellent, 44 percent good, 32 percent fair, ten percent poor and one percent very poor.
