Annual cotton demand in China's domestic market is expected to be about 10-14 million tons in the coming few years, offering a significant market space.

But in China the average cultivable land per people is only 1.4 Chinese mu, merely composing 11.7 percent of that in USA and 58 percent of that in India.

China produces 24 percent of world cotton using only 14 percent of world cotton growing land.

It is very difficult for China to spare additional land for cotton planting in the future. In this situation, China must increase yield by relying on science and technology.
