Gujarat Govt. asks CCI & Nafed to buy cotton at MSP

Gujarat Government has asked Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (Nafed) to buy cotton from farmers at minimum support price (MSP).
Keeping in mind the expected huge crop this year, Government has asked CCI and Nafed to purchase excessive quantity from the market at MSP of 2, 005 rupees per quintal.
Meanwhile, setting aside all apprehensions, fresh cotton is being sold at a price band of Rs2, 135-2,275 per quintal in Saurashtra region.
