India emerged as the top supplier of cotton yarn to Brazil in October, with over 249 percent year-on-year growth at 668 tons, followed closely by Pakistan and Spain with 430.28 and 337.5 tons, respectively.
Brazil's total imports for the month touched 1,839.3 tons, representing year-on-year rise of over 220 percent.
Meanwhile, during the January-October 2006 period doubled to 12,335 tons, with India, Pakistan, Argentina and Paraguay being the top four suppliers.
These growing imports may adversely affect the domestic yarn markets.
