According to Vice President Mei from the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE), ZCE is expected to launch wheat and cotton options by the middle of next year.
Their business ideas are to first develop agricultural futures commodities, then launch industrial products, and finally introduce options and other derivatives.
ZCE has initially completed options trading system and trading system design. They are now waiting for approval. Cotton options trading is expected to be launched by mid 2007.
