JK Agri Genetics announced that it had developed 15 new genetically modified (GM) varieties of Bt cotton seeds, which are undergoing experimentation.
The only company to have created Bt cotton seeds in India, reported a turnover of Rs57 crore from the seed business in the first half of current financial year.
Four Bt cotton seed varieties were introduced in markets, recently, by the company.
JK Group is also setting up a state-of-the-art biotech research centre near Hyderabad with an investment of about Rs20 crore
