Zouping county has applied for national financial support in order to develop local color cotton industry.
Zouping is one of key cotton growing areas, accounting for one seventh of local plantation area. Besides, it is also 'Chinese Cotton Textile Famous city'.
One of the biggest cotton textile units in the world, Weiqiao Group, is also based here.
In recent year, color cotton's production and processing is rapidly gaining popularity. Recognizing this significance, Government has now listed color cotton's production and processing in 2007 development layout.
