Blaze consumes 300 tons of cotton at processing unit

Fire broke out at a cotton processing unit situated near 314 National Road in northwestern Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, gutting more than 300 tons of cotton.
No one was injured in the blaze. Factory, which processes cotton seeds and extracts oil from these seeds, was constructed in 2006.
Firefighters doused the flames after 12 hours of effort. Local fire department was surprised to know that the unit did not keep any fire control facilities.
