Adverse weather condition in the region has decreases cotton production of Dominion Farms Company significantly.

Due to flood that hit several acres of cotton cultivation land, company was only able to harvest 120 tons against 300 tons. Flood occurred after one of the dykes was broken by river Yala.

At present, about 300 acre land is flooded and workers fear to go in the farm.

Due to obsolete machineries at Ndere, company is also not able to meet ginning capacity on the basis of huge volume of cotton production.

In November, company was only able to gin 200 bales, which is much lesser compared to expectations.

The firm has acquired state-of-the-art machineries which have capacity of ginning 3 million tons of cotton per annum.
