Henan cotton acreage may shrink to 7-year low level

According to 'Rural Economic Analysis of the first quarter in Henan Province' report issued by Provincial Agricultural Department, the rural economy has maintained a fast and good development, this year.

With the adjustment and optimization of plant structure, cotton industry is following the important policy of shifting production towards the west region.

Henan's cotton area is expected to decline to 11.21 million mu, a cut of 800,000 mu, down 6.6 percent, the lowest level since 2000, (one hectare = 15 Chinese Mu).
