Cotton imports drop in April

The latest customs statistics showed that China imported 215,000 tons cotton in April 2007, less 45,000 tons from March, down 17.3 percent.

This represented a decrease of 56.2 percent or 275,500 tons from the same time last year.

As of April 2007, China's cotton imports accumulated at 1.3378 million tons, reducing 1.3553 million tons, down 50.3 percent.
