The State Statistical Bureau (SSB) on July 30 released the latest reports wherein main reasons for rebound of cotton production price were mentioned.

Firstly, demand for domestic cotton is continuously increasing and cotton price accounts for about 70 percent of cotton textile production cost.

The second reason mentioned is cotton imports in China has gone down. From January to May this year, net cotton imports were 9,12,000 tons, showing a decline of 55.9 percent from the corresponding period last year.

Finally, it is also observed that since world cotton stocks are shrinking, prices are on the rise.
