Demand for cotton consumption remains uncertain

American Agriculture Department (AAD) has reported recently that the cotton production and consumption of China this year would be very stable. It is therefore quite possible that lesser import of cotton by China would cause instability in the world market.

The intervention of Chinese Government in the cotton market is quiet unpredictable and this apart it is also impossible to know the data of cotton inventory. In order to evaluate the consumption of Chinese cotton, AAD will now examine the import and export of Chinese textiles as well as the cotton consumption of Chinese textile factories.

China is recognized as the biggest cotton producing and consuming country in the world but the Government has yet not provided the official data of consumption by the various textile enterprises.
