According to experts from the cotton sector, the recent rainfall in Pakistan could prove to be helpful for the cotton farmlands in Sindh and Punjab, subject to that the humidity level does not cross beyond 65 percent.

The rains have helped in other ways too; in reducing the impact of mealy bug and also washing away the virus, which has affected large parts of the cotton crop in the two major cotton growing provinces of Pakistan.

They say dry and moderate weather conditions and humidity levels below 65 percent for 3-4 days after rainfall; provide the best atmospheric conditions, conducive to the growth of the cotton crop.
