October cotton imports up over September in China

China imported 118,600 tons of cotton in October 2009, an increase of 16,400 tons or 16.1 percent compared with September, according to customs statistics.

From January to October, China's total imports of cotton reached 1.19 million tons, down 35.9 percent year on year; cotton imports in the first two months of the current year touched 221,000 tons, down 1.97 percent year on year.
