Govt releases 2010 cotton import quotas

The Government of China has issued cotton import quotas amounting to 894,000 tons within tariff quotas of 2010 and the first batch of one million tons of cotton import quotas under floating tariff in 2010.

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) re-affirmed that cotton importers can apply immediately after the New Year begins and it has also requested local NRDC offices to issue quotas, so as to mitigate cotton shortages.
