Uzbek cotton fiber exports up 2.5%

State Statistics Department, Uzbekistan informs that the country's cotton fibre exports registered annual rise of 2.5 percent to $636.6 million during January-September 2005.

Cotton fiber amounted to 16.5 percent of total exports for the period in relation to 17.6 percent during the corresponding period previous year.

In the nine months, exports of cotton fibre worth $48.4 million (7.6 percent of total cotton exports) to CIS countries registered by Uzbekistan.

While exports to non-CIS countries registered at $588.2 million (92.4 percent of total exports).

Exports to CIS countries increased by 60 percent in the nine months, but reduced by 0.6 percent to non-CIS countries.
