Chinese cotton imports grow stupendously

China imported 324,000 tons cotton in April, unchanged from the previous month; an increase of 178,000 tons or 122.6 percent year on year.

From January to April this year, China's total cotton imports reached 1.18 million tons, an increase of 765,000 tons or 184.1 percent year on year.

As of April 2009, China's total imports of cotton achieved 1.72 million tons in the 2009-10 cotton year, an increase of 835,000 tons or 94.4 percent year on year.
