Exports of cotton dip stupendously in 2010

Azerbaijan, which generates a sizable amount of cotton crop, witnessed exports of the white gold declining in the first six months of 2010.

The country was able to export only 1,846 tons of raw cotton totaling to US $2.2 million, down 44.1 percent, when compared with the same time of the previous year.

There were no cotton exports recorded in the month of June 2010 and its share in overall exports from the country has dropped from 0.3 percent to 0.2 percent.
