Cotton yields in new season expected to rise

According to the latest survey of National Cotton Market Monitoring System, weather in China's major cotton-producing regions has been better since entering June, attack of diseases and insect pests appear mild.

The negative impact on cotton growth caused by cold weather during planting season has been offset, but picking time may be delayed.

New cotton yield is expected to reach 90 kg / Mu (one hectare equals 15 Chinese Mu), an increase of 3 percent over the previous year, if weather in late stages is normal.
