Between late October and early November, the China National Cotton Reserves Management Corporation, conducted a survey to assess the cotton crop in the new season.

The sample size survey indicated that total acreage has fallen by 1.1 percent; yield will be 84 kg/acre, down 4.4 percent and cotton output will decline to 6.36 million tons, down 5.5 percent.

After two consecutive years of domestic cotton production cut, the same is expected to continue next year too and cotton prices will remain at high levels.
