Despite starting a month early, the 'Double Eleven' sales promotions, a massive online shopping event held on Singles' Day or November 11 every year, helped the e-commerce logistics index for the month reach a record high. During the shopping festival, the country's e-commerce logistics firms improved supply efficiency, with all linked sub-indices showing consistent gains.
The sub-index for rural business volume increased by 2.3 points to reach 134.5 due to high e-commerce demand from the region.
The sub-index for total business volume increased 0.4 points month on month (MoM) to reach 134.1, indicating greater demand in the industry, the survey revealed.
Logistics are no longer a bottleneck that limits e-commerce usage. Instead, they have accelerated the growth of the e-commerce sector with diverse offerings and efficient operations, the federation said.
China's e-commerce logistics index was 115 in October this year—up by 0.6 points from the September figure, according to the federation.
