Amazon has introduced Help Me Decide, a new AI-powered feature designed to help shoppers quickly pick the best product when browsing similar items. The tool analyses users’ browsing activity, searches, shopping history, and preferences to make tailored recommendations with clear explanations highlighting relevant features and customer insights.
The feature appears once customers view several similar products or through the ‘Keep Shopping For’ section in the Amazon app. For instance, if a shopper explores camping gear, Help Me Decide may suggest a family-sized, all-season tent based on related purchases such as sleeping bags and stoves for car camping, Amazon said in a release.
Built using large language models (LLMs) and Amazon Web Services tools like Bedrock, OpenSearch, and SageMaker, Help Me Decide integrates customer data with product reviews to refine suggestions. It complements Amazon’s other AI tools, including the Interests feature, Shopping Guides, and Rufus, the company’s conversational AI shopping assistant.
Currently available to millions of US customers on iOS, Android, and mobile browsers, the feature aims to make shopping more intuitive and time efficient. Amazon said it will continue to enhance its AI-driven features to make online shopping ‘faster, easier, and more fun.’
"Help Me Decide saves you time by using AI to provide product recommendations tailored to your needs after you’ve been browsing several similar items, giving you confidence in your purchase decision. Help Me Decide continues to build on our commitment to use AI to improve the customer experience by creating tools that make shopping easier and more enjoyable,” said Daniel Lloyd, vice president of personalisation at Amazon.
