ING Bank, the fourth-largest bank by assets in Romania, launched its online shopping platform DealWise in that country, thereby making a foray into fashion space. Products sold include apparel, sports equipment, personal care items and toys. A few offers are available directly on the platform, while others link to the website of retailers like Zara or Mango.

DealWise gathers cashback deals and great discounts in one place. Developed as a ‘beyond banking’ service, the DealWise app is available to any consumer—and not necessarily an ING customer—with a bank account.

In the future, it will provide extra benefits to ING customers by being integrated into ING banking apps, ING said on its website.

DealWise helps consumers choose the most relevant deal and at the same time it helps merchants to find and retain targeted clients.

"We are an innovation of ING Bank NV. This means that we have behind us the strength and stability of a bank, but the flexibility and speed of a start-up. We are the first such ING Bank NV business in Romania, and this is twice a good thing: once because your money and data benefit from the security of a bank. Then, because we have local insights," according to information on the DealWise website.
