India’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the commerce ministry has extended the deadline for public comments and suggestions on the draft national e-commerce policy till March 29. The earlier deadline was March 9. The policy aims to enable the country to benefit from rapid digitisation of economy.

The department announced the decision on its website on March 11.

The draft addresses six broad e-commerce issues—data, infrastructure development, e-commerce marketplaces, regulatory issues, stimulating domestic digital economy and export promotion through e-commerce. (DS)
