Submitting its suggestions on the draft e-commerce policy to the government, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) recently urged for a quasi-judicial or judicial body with adjudication and enforcement authority to put the policy into effect. It reiterated its demand that the cash on delivery (CoD) mode of payment for e-commerce players must be scrapped.

The traders’ body also called for central registration of every e-commerce player engaged in business through any form of digital mode as the government is unaware of the number of e-commerce entities working in the country, according to a press release from the organisation. (DS)
