China's online retail sales up 8.5% YoY in H1 2025: Commerce Ministry

China's online retail sales expanded by 8.5 per cent YoY in the first half (H1) this year, according to Commerce Ministry data.
Online retail of goods contributed 29.6 per cent to the total retail sales.
E-commerce transaction volume for textile products grew by 6.2 per cent YoY during the period.
Cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reached 1.32 trillion yuan—a YoY increase of 5.7 per cent.

China’s online retail sales expanded by 8.5 per cent year on year (YoY) in the first half (H1) this year, according to Commerce Ministry data.

Online retail of goods contributed 29.6 per cent to the total retail sales.

The data showed e-commerce transaction volume for textile products grew by 6.2 per cent YoY during the period.

Cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reached 1.32 trillion yuan—a YoY increase of 5.7 per cent, a state-controlled media outlet reported.

The Silk Road e-commerce cooperation has expanded to 36 partner countries, with new agreements signed with Kenya, Bangladesh and Egypt.
