Seasonally-adjusted Q1 2023 US retail e-com sales worth $272.6 bn

US retail e-commerce sales for the first quarter this year (Q1 2023) , adjusted for seasonal variation but not for price changes, was estimated to be worth $272.6 billion, an increase of 3 per cent from the fourth quarter figure last year, according to the Census Bureau of the department of commerce.

The Q1 2023 retail e-commerce sales estimate was a rise of 7.8 per cent year on year (YoY).

Total retail sales for Q1 2023 were estimated at $1,799.5 billion, a rise of 0.9 per cent quarter on quarter and an increase of 3.4 per cent YoY.

E-commerce sales in during the period accounted for 15.1 per cent of total US sales.

When not adjusted for seasonal variation, the estimate of US retail e-commerce sales for the quarter totaled $253.1 billion, a decrease of 16.5 per cent quarter on quarter and an increase of 8 per cent YoY.
