EU's annual inflation slips to 4.9% in September 2023

The lowest annual rates were registered in the Netherlands at -*.* per cent, Denmark at *.* per cent, and Belgium at *.* per cent. The highest annual rates were recorded in Hungary at **.* per cent, Romania at *.* per cent, and Slovakia at *.* per cent. Compared with August, annual inflation fell in ** member states, remained stable in one and rose in five, according to Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU.

In September ****, the contributions of non-energy industrial goods and energy to the annual euro area’s inflation rate were *.** percentage points (pp) and -*.** pp, respectively.
