Seasonally-adjusted US PPI for final demand rises by 0.7% in Aug

  • The seasonally-adjusted US producer price index for final demand rose by *.* per cent in August this year after rising by *.* per cent in July, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • Four-fifths of this rise is attributable to a *-per cent jump in the index for final demand for goods—the largest advance since rising by *.* per cent in June 2022.

The August advance is the largest increase in final demand prices since moving up by *.* per cent in June last year.

On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand rose by *.* per cent for the ** months to August.
