In the month of September, two of the four production sectors reported a rise in output, but the overall contribution remained minimal with manufacturing only seeing a slight increase of *.* per cent. Despite this, the manufacturing sector did see some positive movements, with a *.* per cent increase in output. This growth was uneven, however, with five of the thirteen sub-sectors experiencing uplifts.
The quarterly perspective offers a similar view of stagnation. The third quarter of **** (July to September) showed no growth in production output when matched against the second quarter of the same year (April to June), which itself had enjoyed a growth of *.* per cent. Despite the overall flat growth, the manufacturing sector was highlighted as the main positive contributor in the third quarter of ****, as per ONS.
