HyCC has announced the construction of H2Next, a sizable green hydrogen facility in Rotterdam. At the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam, the announcement was made.
HyCC has obtained a location for the plant at the first hydrogen conversion park on the Maasvlakte in partnership with the Port of Rotterdam Authority. Reliable access to renewable energy is ensured by this advantageous location, which is close to the anticipated landing sites for multiple large offshore wind farms.
H2Next is anticipated to produce about 25,000 tons of green hydrogen per year once it is up and running. The main purpose of this production is to lower carbon emissions from nearby refineries, the chemical industry, and transportation-related activities in the Rotterdam port area.
The facility will also be able to supply clean hydrogen to other important industrial zones throughout Northwest Europe by integrating the Delta Rhine Corridor with the national hydrogen backbone.
The project's feasibility study is presently nearing its conclusion. HyCC is about to start producing hydrogen by 2030 and make a final investment decision by 2028.
