The Aurora Specialty Textiles Group’s new plant in Yorkville, Illinois, operates under an air permit that protects air quality and is regulated and approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency. This includes significant limits on volatile organic materials and hazardous air pollutants that may be released by an operation, says president Dan LaTurno.

The plant operates under a water discharge permit that sets strict standards for the content and amount of effluent discharged. This includes adjusting pH levels within specific ranges; 24/7 system monitoring; regularly collecting water samples, and meeting specific guidelines for removal of solids, LaTurno told Fibre2Fashion in an interview.
